Where it works
Ideal for trailers, game boss fights, sports edits and big reveals. Overused, it can feel like a parody.
Building it in practice
Scale comes from contrast. An epic climax only feels huge if something quiet came before it, so describe the journey: a sparse opening, a long build carried by string ostinatos, then brass, choir and big percussion together. Give the peak a time stamp if it must land on a cut, and consider a short silence before the final hit, a trick trailers use constantly.
Prompts to try
Epic orchestral trailer music, choir, taiko drums, soaring brass, massive climax
Heroic adventure theme with horns and driving strings, triumphant finish
Epic hybrid cue with synth pulses, orchestral hits and a slow build to a huge drop
