Is there a free plan?
No. Sonvela is paid only, starting at $9 a month. The free library of 58 CC0 tracks is open to everyone without an account.
What happens when I press Generate without a plan?
You will see the plan options with your prompt saved. After subscribing, come back and the prompt will still be in the box.
Can I use tracks on monetised YouTube channels?
Yes, on every plan. Keep your account email and generation date in case a claim needs disputing. See avoiding claims on YouTube.
Can I use tracks for clients?
Yes, on Creator and Studio. Starter covers your own content only. Details are on the licensing page.
Can I release generated songs on Spotify?
Studio includes streaming distribution. Distributors and platforms have their own AI music policies, so check those before releasing.
Do I own the tracks?
We do not claim ownership of your tracks, and your licence lets you use them. Whether purely generated audio can be copyrighted is unsettled; see this guide.
Can Sonvela make full songs with vocals?
Yes. Describe the song in Simple mode, or switch to Custom to paste your own lyrics with [Verse] and [Chorus] tags. Leave the lyrics empty and Sonvela writes them. Turn on Instrumental when you only want music.
Can I use my own lyrics?
Yes. Lyrics you write stay yours. Mark sections with tags such as [Verse], [Chorus] and [Bridge] so the song follows your structure. See how to write lyrics for AI songs.
Which formats can I download?
Every plan downloads songs as WAV files, which you can convert to MP3 in any editor. See WAV vs MP3.
Do unused songs carry over to next month?
No. Your monthly song allowance resets on your billing date.
How do I cancel?
From the billing portal linked in your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. See refunds.
Who processes payments?
Polar, which acts as merchant of record and handles sales tax and VAT.
Where do the free library tracks come from?
They are CC0 recordings by independent artists, from the SoundSafari Public-Domain-Music collection on Hugging Face. Each track page credits the artist and links to the source.
