Sync licence

A sync licence grants the right to pair music with visual media such as film, TV, ads or video.

Short for synchronisation, a sync licence is needed whenever music is timed to pictures. With commercial songs, sync rights are negotiated with publishers and labels and can be expensive. Royalty-free and generated music usually include sync rights in the plan’s licence.

Broadcast and large ad campaigns may still require paperwork such as cue sheets.

Using it in a prompt

Not a prompt term. Every paid plan includes sync use for online content; Creator and Studio add client and ad work.
